Personal Details

I am a hard worker with a talent for mathematics and a strong interest in computer graphics and programming. I am creative and have an eye for precision, and I work well as part of a team.

Work Experience

December 2008 to present - Self employed, various contracts

Since the scaling back of both industries, I have continued to work on a part-time basis for both of my previous full-time employers, Tectonics Ltd. and John Reilly Civil Engineering Ltd. Given my reduced hours, I am also maintaining professional experience by taking on various contracts on a self-employed basis; as a web-developer I provide consultation, coding and implementation for new websites.

I also taken the opportunity to study, and consolidate my skills in many areas of mathematics and computing. I am always looking to add new languages to my portfolio; a few examples are listed above.

September 2006 to December 2008 - Tectonics Ltd, Caker Stream Road, Alton GU34 2QA

Tectonics Ltd. is a furniture component manufacturer with an annual turnover in excess of £5 million. Originally employed as a junior programmer, then a fully qualified programmer, I worked in a small IT department providing support for about 80 users. My experience includes the design and implementation of an SQL database and a browser-based interface in PHP and AJAX, for a bespoke ERP solution. I have also been responsible for the maintenance of the CAD/CAM programs controlling the CNC machines on our production line.

I have consolidated my skills in hardware support, network engineering and Linux/Windows workstation installation in a networked environment, all of which frequently depend on my strength at analytic problem solving. I have also consolidated my knowledge of the UNIX command line and shell scripting.
